I love smoothies because of their freshness and their beautiful colors. Today I wanted to present a bright red drink with a vibrant colour and an intense taste. So I imagined this strawberry smoothie with a cranberry juice base, with an apple for the sweetness and velvety texture, and raspberries for their beautiful color and tangy taste.
The ingredients in this recipe are all packed with antioxidants and vitamin C. Great for boosting your energy levels! In addition, strawberries and raspberries are rich in manganese and the apple will bring you fibers. Cranberry juice helps to prevent urinary tract infections and gastrointestinal disorders.
Warning, cranberry juices from supermarkets are usually full of sugar, up to 20% for certain brands! If you want a healthy drink, I recommend you read the labels carefully before making your choice. You can find cranberry juice without added sugar in organic stores. Coop has on offer a 500 ml carton of organic cranberry nectar, with a fruit content of 30% and no added sugar. It is the one that I used in this recipe.
- 200ml cranberry juice
- 150 gr strawberries
- 60 gr raspberries
- 1 apple
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- Wash and hull strawberries.
- Wash the raspberries and apples. Cut the apple into pieces.
- Blend all ingredients until getting a smooth texture.
- Pour into nice glasses, decorate and enjoy!
