Marinated salmon of my London girlfriend

This recipe was inspired by a dinner at a London friend. I love fish and I eat it regularly, but salmon has never been among my favorites. Except when smoked, I find its taste bland and boring, and I do not appreciate the butter sauces with which salmon filet it is often served. This dinner was a revelation to me and made me rediscover the salmon filet. In this recipe, it is marinated in tamari sauce, garlic and ginger, and decorated with a sweet and spicy sauce.Salmon is an oily fish, rich in omega-3. These are important for cardiovascular health. Salmon is a complete source of protein. It is also a source of vitamin B1, B3, B5, B6, B12 and D. On the trace elements side, it will bring you phosphorus, selenium and calcium.

On the picture, the salmon filet is served with parsley mashed potatoes, you will find the recipe in another article.

Serves 2

  • 2 salmon filets
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 200 ml tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. In an hairtight container, mix half of the tamari or soy sauce (100 ml), grated ginger and crushed garlic.
  2. Add the salmon steaks. Close the container and shake to cover salmon with the  marinade. Leave in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  3. Preheat oven to 180 ° C. Put the salmon filets on aluminum foil. Pour the marinade over the fish. If the filets are with skin, it should be turned down, on the aluminum. Cook in the center of the oven for 12-13 minutes.
  4. While the salmon is being cooked, prepare the sauce by mixing the remaining tamari or soy sauce, honey and cayenne.
  5. Take the salmon out of the oven, arrange it on plates and drizzle with sauce.

Bon appétit and see you soon!

Eleonora
